PureClarityâ„¢ Waterline Purification Filters transform any source water into ADA, CDC, and OSAP compliant water (<500 CFU/ml) for up to 9 months (depending on quality of source water and volume of water used). With its highly compact design (only 1.5" wide and 1.5" long), PureClarity filters connect with great ease to any dental unit waterline having, or easily outfitted with, standard Luer-lock connectors, such as Parkell ultrasonic scalers.
Effortless Installation: The filters connect via standard Luer-lock quick-connect fittings, which
come preinstalled on most magnetostrictive and piezo scaler waterlines. Handpiece and air-water syringe tubing can also be easily modified to accommodate the filters. Installation requires no opening of junction boxes or accessing internal bottle system components.
Chemical-Free Water : Utilizing an innovative biopharmaceutical-grade membrane, PureClarity
filters remove harmful bacteria, pathogens, and contaminants through a chemical-free process, thereby eliminating the need for oxidizing agents (like iodine and chloride) or hazardous silver in the purification process. Chemical-free water filtration offers a safe and natural alternative to
chemically treated water, and alleviates any concerns about possible negative impacts of certain chemicals on dentin bond strength and discoloration of restorations (see, e.g., Alamoudi et al., "Influence of povidone-iodine on micro-tensile bonding strength to dentin under simulated pulpal pressure", BMC Oral Health (2018) 18:178). By choosing chemical-free filtration, dental practices can meet patients' expectations as well as compliance requirements for safety and quality without chemical additives, thereby fostering greater patient trust and satisfaction.
Long-Lasting Purification: PureClarity filters provide clean, safe water for up to 9 months (filter life may vary depending on quality of source water and volume of water used). To extend the useful life of the PureClarity filter, it can be installed in series (downstream from) a Parkell Sediment Filter. This setup facilitates the removal of larger debris particles that could damage scaler and handpiece
components by the Sediment Filter, thereby allowing the PureClarity filter to focus solely on eliminating harmful bacteria, pathogens, and contaminants.
Maintenance-Free: PureClarity filters target biofilm-formation closer to the waterline's end point, or point of use, than other systems. By offering the shortest distance between treatment and the point of use, this setup may reduce the need for regular shock treatments (though close monitoring in accordance with CDC recommendations is, of course, strongly suggested).
Compact and Versatile: At just 1.5 inches in length and diameter, PureClarity filters fit easily into tight spaces and can be installed directly at the point of use.
