Carbocaine injection cartridges are indicated for production of local anesthesia for dental procedures by infiltration or nerve block in adults and pediatric patients. Carbocaine 3% is a mepivacaine hydrochloride injection without a vasoconstrictor. Carbocaine 2% with Neo-Cobefrin contains a vasoconstrictor, levonordefrin, which has a pharmacologic activity similar to that of epinephrine. It provides anesthetic of longer duration for more prolonged procedures.
